One driver suffers minor injury in two-car crash
Belfast — Police say one driver was transported to Waldo County General Hospital with non life-threatening injuries as the result of a two-vehicle collision on Lincolnville Avenue Monday morning, Feb. 11.
Belfast patrolman Mike Rolerson said 73-year-old Rose Tibbetts of Belfast was taken to the hospital via ambulance because she was complaining of pain in her stomach and her hip after the crash, which occurred at about 10:30 a.m.
Rolerson said the accident occurred as 32-year-old Joshua Paradis of Belfast was pulling out of the Waldo County YMCA driveway onto Lincolnville Avenue. Due to the height of the snow banks on either side of the driveway, Rolerson said, Paradis was unable to get a clear view of oncoming traffic.
"He had to keep inching out because the snow banks were so high he couldn't see," said Rolerson. "When he came out [of the driveway] she was right there."
Paradis was not hurt, but his vehicle sustained extensive front-end damage as the result of striking Tibbetts' vehicle.
