Pittsfield — The Mount View baseball and softball teams made the trek to Pittsfield to take on Maine Central Institute on Thursday, April 20 — one day early than originally schedule — with as the schools earned a split on the afternoon.
The Mustang baseball team swung to a 7-4 win and the softball team was dealt an 11-6 loss. Mount View teams are 1-1 on the young seasons.
The games, originally scheduled for Friday, April 21, were moved up one day with rain in the forecast for Friday.

Mount View 7, Maine Central Institute 4
At Pittsfield April 20, the Mustangs swung to a three-run win over the Huskies. Mount View scored two runs in the first, third and seventh innings and one in the fifth, while MCI plated one in the third and three in the fifth.
Leading the ‘Stangs on offense were Joey Danna (3 singles, 3 runs, 3 stolen bases), Liam Cail (single, run), Colby Furrow (double, single, 2 runs, stolen base), Riley Boulay (single), Storm Chauvin (single), Kevin Richards (single) and Barack Moody (single, run, stolen base).
For the Huskies, Clark Morrison (double), Owen Williams (double, run), Pedro Matos (single), Seth Bussell (double), Matt Rumery (2 singles), Hayden Caldwell (run) and T.J. Stewart (single, 2 runs) led the way.
Richards pitched for Mount View, allowing seven hits and four walks, with nine strikeouts. Cody Marquis pitched for MCI, allowing 10 hits and one walk, with five strikeouts.
Maine Central Institute 11, Mount View 6
At Pittsfield April 20, the Huskies benefited from a six-run fourth inning and surged past the Mustangs. Mount View scored one runs in the first, second and sixth innings and three in the third, while MCI tallied two in the first, one in the second, six in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Leading the Mustangs at the plate were Taylor Hodgdon (2 singles, run, RBI), Halle Reynolds (run), Reanna Boulay (double, RBI), McKenna Gibbs (2 singles, run, RBI), Alex Fountain (run), Jasmine Klein (run), Leah Bradstreet (single) and Eliza Geaghan (run, RBI).
Krissy Allen (2 innings) and Boulay (4 innings) pitched for Mount View, allowing two hits and 14 walks. MCI pitchers allowed six hits and two walks, with six strikeouts.
