Fall Baby Fair to be held at Troy Howard Middle School
Belfast — On Saturday, Sept. 25, the Troy Howard Middle School gymnasium will be filled with an indoor sale of new and used children's items from 8:30 to 11 a.m. This is the third year for the fall version of the Baby Fair, sponsored by Waldo County General Hospital, which has an admission fee of $1 to benefit the Belfast Public Health Nursing Association to help local families in need. Children are admitted free. The Troy Howard Middle School is on Lincolnville Avenue (Route 52).
Gently used baby and children's clothes up to size 12, toys, books, sporting equipment and furniture will be for sale. Parents and grandparents will find many great bargains in a festive shopping atmosphere.
An added attraction this year is a raffle of a Moses basket filled with new baby items sponsored by the Hospital Aid. The basket is handmade of homegrown brown maul willow by Kathleen McCormick of Ireland and has a value of $500.
The basket was donated by the Shamrock, Thistle & Rose gift shop, and the baby items were donated by Hospital Aid members. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The basket is currently on display at the Waldo County General Hospital's gift shop and will be at the Baby Fair. The winner will be drawn at the end of the fair.
Tables are still available for sellers. For more information, call Lois Dutch, Waldo County General Hospital's education coordinator, at 338-2500, ext. 4154.
