Father, son summoned following wedding day fight
Searsport — A father and son were summoned on charges including assault after an argument between the two reportedly became physical at a wedding reception Tuesday afternoon, July 3.
Searsport Police Chief Dick LaHaye said 49-year-old Dennis Pomeroy Sr. of Searsport was summoned for assault and terrorizing following the alleged altercation, which took place at a wedding reception at the Lions Club on Prospect Street. Also summoned was Pomeroy's son, 31-year-old Dennis Pomeroy Jr., also of Searsport. The younger Pomeroy was charged with assault and criminal threatening.
LaHaye said the two were arguing over "a family issue that went awry," and eventually the father-and-son disagreement got physical. LaHaye said neither of the men required medical attention as a result of their injuries.
