Belfast — The Winter Adventure Series presented by Come Boating! Belfast’s Community Boating Organization and the Belfast Free Library wraps up Tuesday, March 21, at 6:30 p.m. with a special screening of the adventure film “Paddle to Seattle: Journey through the Inside Passage” (2009, USA/Canada) in the Abbott Room of the library, 106 High St. The screening is free and open to all.

“Paddle to Seattle” is a documentary that follows filmmakers and kayakers Josh Thomas and J.J. Kelley (from Dudes on Media) as they masterfully navigate the 1,300-mile Inside Passage, traveling through waters that border North America’s largest temperate rainforest.

Brown bears guard the shores. Rain pelts them for weeks without rest. They even encounter deadly — not to mention dead — marine life. Enriched with interviews of colorful locals, their stories are threaded together by their unconventional humor and wit. Ultimately, this is a story about friendship and how it survives the … “Paddle to Seattle.”

After the screening, filmmaker Kelley will join the group via Skype for a discussion and to answer questions. For more information, call the library at 339-3884, ext. 10.
