Flash Flood Watch issued
Gray — The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch, in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, in an area including Knox, Lincoln and Waldo counties.
Heavy rainfall is expected to move through the region through Wednesday evening with general rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches expected. Locally higher rainfall amounts in thunderstorms are likely; thunderstorms may produce rainfall rates of up to 3 inches per hour.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding, a very dangerous situation. Those in a Watch area should monitor weather forecasts and be prepared to take action should a Flash Flood Warning be issued.
