Rockport Dance Conservatory is offering a FREE Bollywood Workshop on Sunday October 7th from 3-4pm as part of MidCoast Recreation Center's Open House!

With the exposure to movies such as Slum Dog Millionaire and with TV shows like So You Think You Can Dance featuring current dance styles, the dance genre called “Bollywood” has gained popularity. Bollywood dancing is a commercial name for modern Indian dancing with its combination of classical Indian dance, folk dancing, and Indian dance elements blended with Western dance styles-i.e. Broadway musicals.

In workshops students will learn some fun basic Bollywood dance steps blended with Bhangra moves all danced to great music.  By the end of the class students not only will have learned a short choreographed dance piece, but they will also have gained an appreciation for this exciting dance style. This class is designed for all dance technical levels and focuses on simply having fun while learning!

Bring a friend for twice the fun! The Bollywood Warmup will be 3-3:30pm and the Bollywood Choreography will be 3:30-4pm.

Other FREE classes include Magical Motion 1-1:30pm & Hip Hop Bop 2-2:30. For more information on RDC FREE classes on Open House day contact us at info@rockportdance.com or visit us on FACEBOOK
