Free classes for pregnant and new moms at Picker Family Resource Center

By Pen Bay Healthcare | Dec 04, 2013

Are you an expectant or new mom? As part of the Picker Family Resource Center’s prenatal education program Nurture Me, a free workshop series is available to women who are maternity patients of the Pen Bay Women’s Health practice. These supportive classes for pregnant and new mothers will offer education and resources in four areas of health: Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition (L.E.A.N.). L.E.A.N Expectations is a Dr. Sears Wellness Institute program.

Research reveals that moms who practice the L.E.A.N. principles have healthier pregnancies and deliver healthier babies. There are three different workshops that will be offered on a rotating basis throughout the year:

  • Prepare RIGHT Now: Lifestyle, exercise, attitude and healthy eating can turn your pregnancy into a healthy new beginning.
  • Eat RIGHT Now: Focus on your nutritional needs and those of your growing baby before, during and after pregnancy.
  • Live RIGHT Now: Practical ways to eat well, exercise and cope with the many changes becoming a new mom brings.

Each of these classes is offered regularly and can be taken in any order. The next session will be:

  • Live RIGHT Now, Wednesday, December 18, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Classes are held at the Picker Family Resource Center. Call 596-8950 to register or for more information.
