"Free Finn Fun For Kids"

By Art Jura | Jun 04, 2012

SOUTH THOMASTON — The "Finn-Am Society" and the "Finnish Heritage House" have announced a morning of creative play and discovery for children, which is being planned for Saturday, July 7th. Children who have completed 3rd or 4th grade are invited to attend activities which will be held in Jura Hall. This is located next to the Finnish Heritage House on Route 131. Sign-up forms have already been distributed to several area schools, and will also be available at the FHH.

Various activities will include crafts, Finnish language, music, dancing, and snacks, all in an atmosphere of fun. There is no charge for this session, as the two Finnish-American organizations have a common goal of promoting awareness and interest in the local Finnish culture.

Please pass the word to anyone you think will be interested. We hope to do something similar again, perhaps semi-annually. For additional information, please call Celia Jones at 594-4506, or Peggy Oliver at 594-2298.

Thank you.
