Free workshop by Maine romance writers
Searsport — The Carver Memorial Library Writers’ Series will offer a writing workshop presented by two Maine romance writers Thursday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m.
Authors Julie True Kingsley and Joyce Doyle will bring a spark to the summer calendar with this workshop which, based on the elements of a story, will explore how authors put together their novels from idea generation to publication. The presenters collaborate to write The National Dating League contemporary romance series under the pen name Becca Kent.
Kingsley is a media courses instructor at Southern Maine Community College. She organizes writing retreats for the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators; and has served as a judge in national writing contests. Doyle is a Portland adult education instructor in writing fiction for children and young adults. She has facilitated writing workshops and groups for adults and teens at public libraries in Massachusetts, Montana and Maine.
