Freedom Town News
Voice of Freedom:
Today’s column is going to be a bit different then usual. First of all, I have nothing to report for this coming week. I haven’t heard of any news, or scheduled meetings.
I’ve been checking face book every day to see if “Dakota” has been found, but no luck. Please keep your eyes open for him. I wish they could get close enough to him and get a tranquillizer gun and knock him out in order to get him back home.
I’m beginning to think that loose dogs are being picked up by some and they are being sold. So many dogs have been reported missing.
Summer is officially over as of Labor Day! Many people celebrated the weekend with picnics, family and friends.
The college students are back to school, as is the high school and middle school. Vacation for the bus drivers is over!
There are women busy in their kitchens canning the fruits and vegetables to enjoy during the winter.
I attended the Mt. View football game on Saturday. It was the first game I attended in two years and really enjoyed taking pictures and meeting up with alumni “Mustangs” like Aaron Santana, his dad Eddie and Nate Sigouen. The Mustangs lost to the Lions from Belfast 40-26. Pink was worn by many because this game was played for Breast Cancer awareness, and over $1,000.00 was raised. The players wore pink socks, and many folks that attended wore pink. The cheerleaders looked great in their pink outfits and did a fine job. The “Mustangs” gave it their all and it looks like it’s going to be a good season for them and their new coach.
Jon Shaw was hired to be a police officer in the town of Hallowell AND was hired as a coach for football for the Mt. View SAD 3 middle school. Congratulations Jon!
I also noticed that the leaves are beginning to lighten up. The green is not as dark as it was. Lighter shades are turning. Fall is right around the color and the foliage will be coming soon.
Hope to have more news next week, in the meantime, if you have anything of interest, please contact me at the above e mail address or call my number.
Have a great week!
