Monday, March 17, is St. Patrick’s Day! I would like to take this time to wish all my “Irish” readers a very Happy Day and I’m sure you will be wearing the green. I think everyone Irish or not wear the green, eat corn beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots and drinks green beer! Enjoy!

What a Vacation:
On a happier note, it was reported to me that Judy Nilsen (member of the Planning Board) and her daughter Belinda Ragonese formally of Belfast recently returned home from a three week trip to Tangania, Africa. They took the Lemosho route climbing to the Summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. about 19,320 feet to the top of the Summit in the tallest mountain in Africa.
It took them three weeks of traveling. It took 7 days to reach the Summit and two days to come back down. They completed their trip by taking a 9 day safari to the SerengeH Village where they encountered many lions, heard of buffalo, giraffe wallabies and many species of monkeys.
Upon their arrival home, they agreed with Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, that “There’s No Place like Home. Welcome Home Judy!
I am happy to announce that my Grandson Tyler was offered an internship in Senator Angus King Jr. office in Washington, D. C. this summer. We are all very excited for him and he will be greatly missed.
Tyler is playing college hockey as many of you know for the University Of Farmington (UMF). This past week they played Colby in the first game of the play offs. Well I’m happy to announce that UMF beat Colby 7 to 2. It was a great game. Last nights game was cancelled due to the weather so they are playing tonight. (as I write this column) I’ll let you all know next week how they made out in the play offs.
Scott Holmes and Kiesha are expecting their second child in late July or early August. It’s a boy! They have a daughter 3 years old. Scott is the son of Steve and Kim Holmes. Congratulations are in order!
Happy Birthday to both Tyler and Kyle Hadyniak who turn 21 on Monday, March 21, the first day of Spring. When they were born I said, “a new life, and a new beginning.”. My birthday falls on Tuesday, March 18 and I will be 77. Never thought I would make it this far. So for all these years we have always celebrated our birthdays together and this year will be no different. We will be going to a restaurant for dinner with presents, balloons, three birthday cakes, pictures and good food. We always have a fun time when we are together but for some reason birthdays are special.
To all of us, Happy Birthday and many more years are wished for us all.
Until next time, have a great week, stay safe and warm. I don’t think spring is right around the corner.
