Volunteers and Help Needed:

There are several areas that we could use the help of volunteers.  We are also looking for new members to join the Freedom Booster & Rec Comm., The Dirigo Grange #98 and The Freedom Community Historical Society.  I realize many people don’t like to make a commitment to any organization, and if that’s the reason you hesitate to join, maybe you can find the time to volunteer some of your time sometimes.

The Rec. Comm. will start off the month of October with our annual Halloween party for the youngsters on October 23, in November we will have our annual Veteran’s Day program on November 11 and in December, Meet the Grinch Christmas Craft Fair on December 10.  We will appreciate those of you who would like to come and help us decorate, etc.  Giving you plenty of time to think about it.

If you would like to decorate a place in the building, you can start on October 11, while the office if opened and must be finished by October 19, 2016.  The building is locked therefore it will be safe to leave your decoration’s there.

Freedom Volunteer Fire Department

The Freedom Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual “Hunter’s Breakfast” on Saturday, November 12 from 5:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Freedom Fire Department located on 75 Pleasant Street.  The menu will consist of: eggs to order, pancakes, bacon and sausage, toast, beans, hash browns, coffee and juice, all for only $7.00 per person. Take the family out for breakfast and your better half out of the kitchen and meet your neighbors and friends there. By the way, you don’t have to be a hunter!  Show the department your support.

Crafting, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching etc.

Every Tuesday the S & B Girls will be meeting at the Town Office starting at 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. We do all kinds of crocheting, knitting, stitching and or crafts.  Anyone can come on down and join us, learn how to do what is of interest to you and join in the fun.  Every week books are available for your taking to choose from for patterns and instructions of anything you may want to do.  The books are donated and they are yours for the taking. (Free).  Looking forward to seeing some new faces so won’t you join us in the fun and two hours of relaxation.
