Friends of Maine's Seabird Island lecture Thursday in Camden

Stephanie Martin,the Program Coordinator for The Friends of Maine's Seabird Islands will speak on Thursday morning at 10:00am at the Congregational Church in Camden. The program is sponsored by the Camden Garden Club, is free, and open to all.

Stephanie will give an overview of our coastal Refuge, touching on the history of establishment, types of habitat and wildlife, the Refuge’s seabird management programs, and recent research efforts to document seabird foraging areas in the Gulf of Maine, as well as the use of the islands by bats and migrating songbirds. She will also discuss how the Friends of Maine’s Seabird Islands works to support the work of the Refuge and will give a brief update on the new visitor’s center that has opened in Rockland.

Come join the Camden Garden Club for their monthly meeting at 9:00am followed by refreshments prior to Martin's talk.  All are welcome!
