"From Power Struggles to Problem Solving" parenting presentation scheduled

By Children's House Montessori School | Sep 27, 2012

Judith Orme, MSW, is presenting the next parenting talk in her free four part series in Camden. These hour long presentations are open to all community parents.

"From Power Struggles to Problem Solving: Transforming Conflict into Connection" will be offered Wednesday, October 3, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Children's House Montessori School, 58 Elm Street, Camden.

How can power struggles be avoided when children are demanding or defiant? And how can balance and cooperation be achieved? The process of problem solving, engaging both children and parents, supports children in making decisions and confronting challenges, teaching collaboration skills that bring win-win solutions. Through connective communication, children engage in finding solutions that work with parents sharing the power. Problem solving teaches children to think independently, building self-esteem and creating balance in the family.

In this hour-long talk, Judith will provide an overview of connective communication and problem solving in everyday parenting.

There is no charge for this presentation but advance sign up is required. Call Judith Orme, (603) 801-6382.

Coming up: "Temperament" on October 10 and "Co-Parenting through Separation and Divorce" on October 17.
