Galerie Dufour, 94 Main Street in Belfast, will host an opening reception for an exhibition of new photographic works by Charles Laurier Dufour on Friday, July 13, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. The theme this month focuses on transition. The characters in “Portals” are photographed in or around doorways, windows, passageways, etc., symbolizing recent or impending change. Dreamlike and even haunting in a few cases, this black and white collection invites observers to escape their own lives and enter the world of the characters in the photographs.
In addition to the Portals exhibition on Galerie Dufour’s red wall, visitors will also find exceptional captures of beach stones, convoluted tree bark, pylons in Belfast harbor, and numerous natural fine art nudes. If you missed the previous exhibit, “Sticks”, you’ll get to see a number of those photographs scattered among the artwork on the other gallery walls.
Portals will be on exhibit until August 9. Galerie Dufour is closed on Tuesdays in July, but open the rest of the week including until 8 pm every Friday. Call for specific times: 338 – 6448, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
