Give the gift of warmth

Sep 20, 2016

Everyone should have warm clothes during the cold winter months, but many don’t. For the past 10 years, Waldo County Triad has been on a mission to collect new or gently used clean spare coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, snow pants, gloves and much-needed blankets for those in need. This year is no exception. Children's, teen and adult sizes — both men’s and women’s items — are gratefully accepted.

Now through Nov. 13, donation boxes are available at the following locations: Waldo County Sheriff’s Office in Belfast, Belfast City Police Department, Searsport Town Office and Public Safety Building, Hannaford in Belfast, Winterport Town Office, Robin’s Nest Consignment in Belfast, First Church in Belfast, First Baptist Church in Belfast, Waldo County YMCA in Belfast and Unity Community Center.

All items donated will be distributed at no cost to people in need as part of the Waldo County Action Partners’ Neighbor to Neighbor holiday food basket distribution Nov. 19 at Belfast Armory, U.S. Route 1, Belfast. Volunteers are needed and welcome.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Waldo County Triad at 1-866-426-7555.

Triad is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting programs, activities, education and materials that will enhance the well-being of Waldo County’s senior population. This is accomplished through volunteers and merged cooperative efforts among law enforcement, community-based organizations and citizens.
