Rockland — Two glorious days on the links greeted young athletes who participated in the annual Midcoast Junior Golf Association championships Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25-26, on the Rockland Golf Course.
Golfers of all ages competed in the event, which crowned champions in Division I, II and III.
The final two-day tourney culminates the summer series of events, which includes clinics and weekend tourneys at various courses in the Midcoast, from Northport to Walpole.
Over the weekend, the Division I golfers, usually the older, more experienced participants, played 18 holes each day, while the Division II and III golfers played nine holes each day.
When the final swings had been taken, Daulton Wickenden (73-77—150) was the Division I winner, Bailey Plourde (49-43—92) the Division II champ and Hayden Christie (45-43—88) the Division III titlist.
Twenty youngsters participated in both days of the tourney.
