Dec 03, 2013

Harbor Hill, a Genesis HealthCare Facility located in Belfast, announced it has launched a hat drive called “Cap the Cold” to benefit local charities such as New Hope for Women, Oncology and Infusion Department at Waldo County General Hospital, and the Belfast Soup Kitchen. The drive started Nov. 15 and continues through Jan. 8, 2014.

Harbor Hill has teamed up with Camden National Bank and Belfast United Methodist Church to accept donations of new hats for men, women and children. Hats can be dropped off in the lobby of Harbor Hill Center located at 2 Footbridge Road, Camden National Bank located at 156 Main St. and Belfast United Methodist Church located at 23 Mill Lane.

“Especially during the cold months keeping your head warm is important to us all for winter safety," said Administrator Irving Faunce. "Thirty to 40 percent of your body heat is lost through your head so there is a real need for donations of warm hats among us, which includes many children. I encourage everyone to remember those who need assistance. The goal is to deliver hundreds of hats to various charities in the community.”
