LL Bean is holding their annual winter coat drive for seniors in need November 16th through the 18th at their Freeport flagship store. For every clean and in wearable condition winter coat donated, LL Bean will match the coat with a $5 donation to the Maine Association of Area Agencies on Aging to serve and assist cold seniors this winter. The coats and the generous donation will help keep many seniors keep warm, those who would otherwise go without this year.
Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center and Lincoln County TRIAD want to help LL Bean make this year’s collection the largest contribution possible. To do so, the Coastal Community Center, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta has volunteered to be a drop-off location for Lincoln County. For those who cannot make it to LL Bean’s Flagship store in Freeport on November 20th or 21st, stop by Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center between November 8th and 16th, Monday – Friday from 9 a.m.- .3 p.m. (Center Closed Monday, November in honor of Veterans Day) to leave the coats you no longer need. All sizes, men’s and women’s welcome. No appointment is necessary. Just bring your “gently used” warm winter coats and Nora and Paul Cyr will be happy to take them to Freeport and donate them for you! For more information, call 563-1363.
