Hospice Volunteers to hold first Trunk Sale May 31
Hospice Volunteers of Waldo County (HVOWC) is hosting its first Trunk Sale, on Saturday, May 31.
The premise is simple: register your car, van, truck or bike for $15; pack it up with salable items — everything from art and kitsch, to clothing and equipment; bring this vehicle to our office location, 125 Northport Ave. (across from Waldo County Hospital) and park it in our parking lot; and open your doors and your trunk — you're in business!
The sale starts at 8 a.m. and goes until noon. Whatever you sell, you keep the proceeds. The $15 registration fee helps Hospice Volunteers continue to bring their services to the people of Waldo County free of charge.
HVOWC has been training volunteers for over 30 years to support patients and families at the end of life with non-medical hospice care. The program has grown over the years and now the bereavement program supports anyone who has experienced a loss from any cause. In March 2014, HVOWC was the Bangor Savings Bank Community Matters More Winner for Waldo County.
The Belfast Bay Fiddlers will provide music, and breakfast sandwiches and other goodies will also be available. If the weather is inclement, the sale is still on, but if you have a tent or canopy please feel free to bring it.
To register, message the HVOWC FaceBook page at www.facebook.com/HVOWC or call the office at 930-2677. For more information about Hospice Volunteers, our services, support groups, and trainings, please visit our website at www.hospicevolunteersofwaldocounty.org.
