Host Mustangs come up short in tri-meet with Panthers, Rams

Thorndike — The Mount View wrestling team hosted Medomak Valley of Waldoboro and Cony of Augusta in a tri-meet on Wednesday night, Jan. 15, a meet that, ultimately, did not prove to be a banner day for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs came up on the short end in both matches, falling to the Rams 51-30 and the Panthers 34-29.

The individual Mustang results, with Mount View wrestlers listed first, were:

132 pounds — Jarryd Fonger won by forfeit over Cony; and beat Riley McCollett, Med.

138 pounds — Matt Wheeler pinned Steven Beland, Cony; and lost to Riley McCollett, Med.

145 pounds — Anthony Barnard won by forfeit over Cony; and pinned Tim Jerome, Med.

152 pounds — Scott Vaillancourt won by forfeit over Cony and Medomak Valley.

160 pounds — Sierra Fonger was pinned by Logan Benedict, Cony; and pinned by Quinn Ashmore, Med.

170 pounds — Ethan Sewell-Berry was pinned by Griffin Richards, Cony; and was pinned by Cyril Miller, Med.

220 pounds — Job Mesaric lost to Nicholas Benner, Cony; and pinned Owen Gilbert, Med.

285 pounds — Chris Cole pinned Elias Younes, Cony; and won by forfeit over Medomak Valley.
