In 'Perfect Storm,' Rock Coast Rollers host Boston Derby DamesMidcoast team host final home event of summer at MRC
Rockport — The Rock Coast Rollers have had quite a season and hosted their final home bout of 2013 over the weekend.
The Midcoast women's flat track roller derby team presented “The Perfect Storm: The Adventure Begins,” which pitted its travel team, The Perfect Storm, against the Boston Derby Dames' “Wicked Pissahs.”
The teams faced off on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Midcoast Recreation Center.
The Rock Coast Rollers have had a fruitful 2013 season and have traveled to many locations for various bouts, including to Providence, R.I. in May and Moncton, New Brunswick in July, while also facing several other squads throughout Maine from cities such as Portland and Bangor.
Skaters from the Aug. 17 bout were Carolyn "Vengerful Vegan" Marriner, Bethany "Hurricane Bethany" McNelly-Davis, Sarah "Vegemighty Slamwitch" Bartz, Emily "Sparrowhawk" Marvin, Irene "Laser Wolf" Yadao, Brionna "Hedda Flame" Barton, Whitney "Brawler D. Lite" Carpentier, Jodie "Phoenix Down" Keenan, Kristen "Chain Lynx" Eckman, Leila "Scarina" Percy, Amanda "Dynamo Daisy" Baker, Reba "Roto Tilda" Richardson, Amanda "Wheel Crazy" Sprowl, and Kate "Oxidizer" Chandler.
Referees were Christopher "Cameltopher" Moore, head non-skating official, Paul "Noah Pologies" LaPorte, outside pack referee, Kris "Collin O'Fences" Perkins, outside pack referee, and Sara "Irma Gerd" Childs, non-skating official.
