By Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce | Sep 24, 2010

Janet Dutson, Executive Director of the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC), has announced she will be resigning from her position in October. The BACC has begun a search process to select a replacement, according to Rob Constantine, the President of the Board of Directors.

Ms. Dutson joined the Chamber in October of 2009. Over the past year, she has overseen the development of a new BelfastMaine.org web site, developed a new annual event, The Good Life Fest, and focused the Chamber’s activities on promoting the Belfast area. In August, she moved to Southern Maine with her family and has continued as Executive Director while assisting in a plan for the successful transition of a new executive director.

"Janet has helped create an organizational infrastructure that will help us in moving ahead with a new executive director," said Mr. Constantine. "She has the gratitude of the board of directors for helping us gain a steady footing and a great base for continued growth.”

Dutson said, “I’ve been thrilled to be part of this organization. I’ve had the support and enthusiasm of the Board of Directors and community throughout my time here. I’m sure the next executive director will continue to move forward in growing the Chamber through collaborating with community groups, serving the members, and bringing increased attention to the Belfast area.”
