Joan Benoit Samuelson featured speaker at Kiwanis Conference

Eight members of the Kiwanis Club of Rockland attended the New England District Kiwanis Fall Training Conference on November 17 and 18 in Portsmouth New Hampshire, where Olympic Champion Joan Benoit Samuelson was the featured speaker.  Samuelson, [far right], is pictured with, [left to right], Kiwanis International Trustee Elizabeth Tezza of Charleston, South Carolina; Rockland Kiwanis president-elect Katie Tarbox of Spruce Head; Rockland Kiwanis president Amy Pease of Union; and Rockland Kiwanis immediate past president Janet Page of Owls Head.  Also attending the conference were past presidents Brenda Batty and John Batty of Rockland; past president Gordon Page of Owls Head; past president Jacqueline Harjula of Thomaston; and Kiwanis member Paula Lavoie of Union.  Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
