Juvenile charged in convenience store burglary

Belfast — Belfast police charged a juvenile for breaking into Belfast Variety and allegedly stealing cigarettes.

Detective Sgt. Gerry Lincoln said the juvenile, whose name is not being released and whose age was unavailable, allegedly broke a window late in the evening of Feb. 26 to gain access to the store on Route 52. Once inside, the juvenile stole several cartons of cigarettes and a few loose packs, Lincoln said.

Nothing else was reported stolen from the store.

Lincoln said the juvenile was charged with burglary and theft.
