Augusta — The high school football season may be over, but awards still are being issued — which may bode well for one of three Waldo County gridiron standouts.

Belfast's Stephen Paul and Peter Kelley, along with Mount View's Ricky Moulton, are three of 31 nominees for the annual Frank Gaziano Memorial Lineman Awards.

The award established in 2010, are named in honor of Frank Gaziano, who played high school, college and professional football before founding the South Portland-based National Distributors.

Eighteen offensive linemen and 13 defensive linemen are up for the award, with the two winners receiving a $5,000 scholarship — and the two runners-up a $1,000 scholarship — during the award brunch on Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Paul, Kelley and Moulton played offensive line for their respective teams.
