Rockland — Midcoast artist Mark Kelly will offer a late spring class with RSU 13 Adult Education at the McLain School Building, at the corner of Lincoln and Summer streets.

Kelly, a partner in Belfast's Åarhus Gallery, will lead an updated version of his Not-Your-Average Art Class for people with all levels of experience Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m., May 28 through June 18.

Kelly is widely known for his drawings of birds and use of unusual art media such as gunpowder and fireworks. New art exercises will be introduced in this experiential class.

Kelly encourages folks to try different techniques as they explore the art process.

“My hope is that this class will be a launch pad — that students will come away from it inspired and ready to pursue new creative paths that they never knew were possible,” he said.

Preregistration is strongly encouraged. Cost is $40 plus a one-time $10 materials. To register, call 594-9764.
