Kiwanis presents check to benefit Special Olympics
The Kiwanis Club of Rockland recently presented a check to benefit
Special Olympics, as a result of the annual Kiwanis Special Olympics
dinner and silent auction. The events are designed to help local
children and adults attend summer regional athletic competitions.
Accepting the check in the amount of $2,825 from Kiwanis past
president and Special Olympics Dinner chair Marjorie Kinney, [left],
of Thomaston, is Special Olympics advisor Karen Matthews. Also
pictured, left to right, are Kiwanis member and Key Club advisor Jane
Thompson of Warren; Athlete Ashley Ellis; Kiwanis president Janet Page
of Owls Head; past president and Aktion Club deputy advisor Jackie
Harjula of Thomaston;and Athletes Dakota Wildes; Jacob Morris; Caroline Duda; and Stephanie Stalter.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing
