Knox Town News
Here it is,another nice day out there. Nice to see the sun shining. We have a full moon, nice and bright out now at night. I had a big raccoon sitting on my doorstep eating some corn I left behind. He devoured quite a bit before I could get my camera out. Of course, I made too much noise so off he scampered before I could get a picture. At least he had a meal. Haven't seen him since.

Flag Is Up and It's A New One
I had a call from Carol McGovern at Mt. View. She was checking on the Flag we were going to get for the school. I got in touch with the Fairfield Post # 14, American Legion. Commander Gene Coombs, and wife Cindy, and Dickie Cyr came out Tuesday with a new flag. I went along ,and we replaced the Flag in front of the school. We even had a number of students come outside and watch. Everyone saluted the flag as Smitty raised it back up. Thanks Mt. View for the honor. Now they have old Glory flying brand new again.( We told the students the old torn flag would be burned in a ceremony at the Post home at a later date.) God Bless America.
I stopped to visit with Maxine Hoxie Flanders in Waldo today for a little while. I have been searching for old photos of homes on Frye Mt. in Knox, and Montville. She used to live there. It is interesting to find out about the places that are no longer standing. Thanks for the visit Maxine.
I also stopped to call on Mary and Henry Doliber. Mary and Henry both belong to the Legion and Auxiliary. They sure are nice folks. Mary donated some of her American Girl doll clothes for our Junior Auxiliary scholarship raffle. Thanks Mary. She also gave me 60 Ditty bags she sewed for the Veterans. These are for toiletries, and shaving gear at Togus, and Bangor Veterans home. Thanks again. It is a great project I have people sew for us.

Enjoy our leaves turning all colors. It's been pretty nice for the Fair weekend, although the rain Sunday dampened people's plans, and turned out nice in the afternoon. All reports indicated the Fair had a big attendance. Enjoy those fresh apples at the Orchards. You can pick your own at Schartner's after all.( They have PYO this year again.)
Have a great week. Today is the first day of Fall, hello Autumn, as I update this. Moose hunting gets underway up North on Monday.. Good luck to those off to the North Woods.
