Knox Town News

By Rita Doughty | Feb 06, 2014

Hello Folks

Here it is February already. Where has the time gone?  We have had some snow this week, and at least it was light and fluffy, and much easier to shovel the steps and deck. Wow, the weather in the Southern States has been terrible. They are getting a taste of our Maine weather. The problem is, they have no snow equipment, salt etc. I guess even if we complain, we really should be thankful our roads are well maintained, sanded, salted, and all they have to do to make it safer for us. Spring is just around the corner, about 40 more days.

Newborn Arrives

Congratulations to the new parents, Barbara ( Corey ) Gagnon, and Michael Gagnon of Enfield, Conn.on the birth Feb. 2nd of their son, Reo Philip Edwin Gagnon. He weighed 7 1/2 lbs. His maternal grandparents are Connie Berry Corey and Walter Corey of town. His maternal great grandmother is Meredith Murch of town. Everyone is ecstatic with this little fellar's arrival.

Author  -New Books

Christine Stewart Hubbard has a daughter that is an author. Her name is Brenda Hubbard Smith., aka B. J. Smash. She had a book out, The Seaforth Chronicles, A Twisted Tale of earth, air, fire, and water. Book # 1. She now has two more. The Witches of Merribay, and Book # 2, The Seaforth Chronicles,  McCallister Darkness. They can be found on amazon.com..

These books I have heard are very interesting. Look for them, and help a young Waldo County lady. She lives out of State now., but her heart is still in Maine.

This Friday and Saturday

Check out, " Last Exit " at Bowen's this weekend. A good time to be had by all. Look for Alan Orcutt and tell him you read this on line. Guess I got his name correct.

Weaver's Roadside Variety

Check out Matt when you can. Get Breakfast any time of day, and he'll fill you right up. He has a big giant mixer, and I'm sure the Donuts will be coming soon For Sale. Look for all the Sweet Pastries he has. They are so good. So much for our diets. But a little treat, now and then never hurt anyone. At least I keep telling myself that.
