It's Spring Time
Yes, I believe it is Spring Time finally. Even though we have had the snow the ole timer's called it poor man's fertilizer. I look forward to the warm days. Not snow on my roof, and comes down, freezes, more ice to get rid of.
The Maine Author, Tim Caverly presents "Allagash Tails and Tales "at Mt. View High School Library. A multi-media presentation about one of our nation's premiere Wild and Scenic Rivers. This is April 30th 6-7 pm. Tim will be available to sign books after his presentation. To register call 568-3426 ext. 1 and there is a $ 4.00 fee.
Knox Farm Team
The sign-ups for the Knox Farm Team youngsters will be Friday, April 25th 4:30-6 pm. at Larrabee field. If your Town does not have a team, or you are not sure, come and sign up with us.
Our Town Clerk, Carol Wentworth slipped on the ice and fell. It was presumed she has broken her arm. Get better quick Carol.
Easter School Spring Vacation
The school kiddos are out for a week's School Vacation. Gabe will be coming to see me on Sunday for the week. I know he's anxious to come. He will be playing baseball soon.
There has not been much news this week to report. The cold nights are helping with the folks still making Maple Syrup. That's a good thing.
Cemetery Mowing Bids
As Clerk of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery the Request for Bids , the Mowing and the maintaining of the Cemetery for the season, are due May 5th back to me, Rita Doughty 194 Morse Rd. Knox, Me. 04986 I have posted some papers too.
4th District May Meeting
Any Auxiliary member going to the May 18th 1 pm meeting for Installation has been changed by Pres. Ann. It has been moved from Fairfield Post to Skowhegan Post.
The Testimonial for 4th District Pres. Ann and District 10 Commander Leo will be held Jointly at Skowhegan post on May 16th.
Post 50 Legion and Aux. Joint Installation
This will be held at 6 pm for supper, then Installation will follow. Held at Post 50 Unity. Ladies to wear navy blue and white.
The Aux. Ladies of Unit 14 will hold their Basket Bingo on May 3rd. Doors open 10 am, starts 11 am. In the evening at 4 pm a Benefit Spaghetti Supper for Carol Corson will be held. She recently lost her husband, and her beloved sister, Cathy Gurney as well. Many of the Auxiliary Ladies knew these ladies. Please help support Carol.
My lady Veteran friend, Gloria Pacheco has moved to Leisure Home in Unity. She has been busy moving this week. I know she will be much happier there. No more muddy road, water freeze ups etc. Good for you Gloria. I will visit soon. I told Ridgetop where you were.
I wish both of my son's Kevin Doughty, and his brother, Wayne Doughty Happy Birthday on May 1st. They were born on same day 6 years apart. Hope you both have great days. Love you, Mom.

Enjoy the week. The youngsters are out for Vacation, so beware they may be on their bikes.
We have dogs running loose, and not licensed. I think it is time for some action. I for one, don't feel safe to go for a walk, let alone even go out in my own yard. It is time for change. We shall see.

Reminder, The Dance at the Jackson Community Center with Don Nickerson, and Country Mist Band will be held April 26th 7:30-11:30 pm Admission $10.00, BYOB Call for reservations 722-3205. This helps to support the Community Center. Cindy will be looking for you to show up.
Hopefully we start to get warmer weather, and sunny days. I have been home a little over a week, It's hard to take it easy when I see so many things that need to get done. My family has gone to Myrtle Beach for the week. Have fun everyone. Several folks have had pneumonia, get well soon.
Knox Historical Society
We still have calendars available. Some real nice pictures, I liked the one of John and Carrie Ingraham. the Raven Family, Clayton and Tena Keller, and Newton and Marge Larrabee's farm, and others. Mary Ellen and Joyce got the Newsletter ready, and it was mailed out about the old East Knox School House. Our next fund raiser is the Ox and Horse Pulls in July. Clayton is making the area better.
