Sunshine

Yes, even though we had a rainbow today from the rain, and sun shining it was a great day. It is finally warming up some here. We will accept this weather. The school kids are playing ball, and some have been having track meets. It is good to be outside now.

Sympathy

I am extending our condolences to the family of Patricia Clements who passed on April 26th. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Upcoming events this weekend:

Mother's Day Basket Bingo at Post 14 10 am set up, starts at 11 am. Saturday.

The Public Supper at Freedom Congregational Church at 4:30 pm Saturday.

A Public Supper at the Unity Community Center Sat. evening.

Sunday 10 am be at the Belfast Pedestrian Bridge if you want to be included in a video of Belfast. They are looking for a big crowd to show up. Sounds like fun.

Birthdays

On May 10th I wish A Happy Birthday to my Aunt Elsie Harris in Norwood, Mass. It is her 90th plus Birthday. May you have a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday to Sonya Merrifield in Brooks on May 10th as well. Hope you have a great day.

Happy Birthday to Linda Parker May 8th too. Hope it's a fantastic day for you.

Knox Historical Society

We still have our Calendars of old photos if you would like one. Please let me know  I could mail it to you if necessary. They are $10.00 plus $3.00 for postage. I have sold a few lately. Mary Ellen Twombly mailed out a newsletter about the old East Knox School.

Photos

I must see Mary Knox she has a couple old photos I need to get for our next calendar. I will copy yours, and return it, if you care to loan it to me. We need photos for our future calendars. I am also interested in photos of homesteads on Frye Mt. as well. It is my hope we do the Frye Mt. Tour again this year as well. This is the Montville Historical Society's project.

Knox Farm Share Project

Peter Curra has mailed the forms out to his people who get shares from his farm stand. It is June through October.

Postponed

Maine Author Tim Caverly will be coming this Fall, as no one registered for his presentation. Please, if you want to attend it is a must to register for this., ahead of time.

Vacation Trip

The Carleton  Joy Family recently returned from a trip to New York, and Pennsylvania among other places. Sounded like they had a great trip. They operate the Greater Pen Bay Driving School for Drivers Ed. The students get to learn how to drive safely and get their permits. They are on the Internet if you have questions about times, classes etc. They are also my neighbor.

Vacation Ends

I got Gabe back to meet his Mom,  Randy, and baby brother Myrek in Bucksport for his trip to Milbridge. I had David, and Wayne and Katie picked him up Sunday. So it is quiet here now with all the grand kids gone home. They all are involved in sports so it is hard to plan an overnight with Grammie.

Happy Mother's Day

Since Mother's Day is May 11th I want to wish all the Mother's out there a Very Happy Mother's Day.

4th District Meeting

Our last meeting for this session will be May 18th 1 pm for the Meeting and Installation. This will be held at Post 16 in Skowhegan, not Fairfield. Our Dept. President Georgine and team will do the installing. She fell down her stairs and broke her hand, and some ribs. I hope she is feeling better soon. Auxiliary ladies, please try to attend. I have sent out my Ways and Means Raffle Tickets, and if you in 4th District got green tickets, they must be changed for the white ones. This is for our 7 District Presidents Baskets Raffle at Convention. Thanks Ladies.

Until next week,

I hope everyone is enjoying this Spring warm up we have had. We can deal with the rain. It is good for our lawns and to be garden plots. I see New Beat Farm has the fire going in their greenhouse, and they have planted some thing under the hoops in the field.

Legion Meeting and Aux. Installation

At Benjamin Berry Post 50 May 9th 6 pm Pot Luck supper, and Joint Installation after. All Aux., and Legion Welcome to attend.

Track Meet

My granddaughter Sara did good in the Track Meet Saturday with her team mates at Winslow.

Way to go to Wes Turner at the Track Meet for Mt. View as well. Good job !

Birthday Gifts

Way to go to Chuck Hadyniak who got Kayak's for his birthday. Now that looks like a fun time coming up soon.

Enjoy our week coming up, it has to stop raining soon. Some places had thunder, lightning, and hail. At least we didn't get that.

Get Better Soon

I wish Get Well Wishes to my friends, Gerry and Gayle Gifford from West Bath who were in a motorcycle accident. Someone wanted to stop quick in front of them for ice cream, and they had no place to go but down. I hope you heal up quickly. Thank goodness you were wearing helmets.
