Knox Town News

By Rita Doughty | Aug 22, 2014

Hello Folks....

Here it is going towards the end of August already. Union Fair is in full swing, and next is the Windsor Fair. Our summer is slowly fading away. Schools will soon be in session.

Visitors

Gabe Doughty recently spent a week here. Randy, April and Myrek Norton spent Saturday evening as well. They all left Sunday. They brought me lobsters.

Sara, Gabe, Katie, and David spent a night with Grampa Linwood, and Grammie Karen Doughty. They told me they rode the 4- wheelers. Everyone had fun.

Freedom Academy- Uni-Free Reunion

These reunions are for anyone that attended the schools. Recognized were World War II Veterans, Laurel Drew, Roy Ward, Clayton Thompson, and Irvin Tyler. Randy Collins also was a guest speaker. He excelled in education. John Ford, Sr. Retired Game Warden, and Retired Maine State Trooper Mark Nickerson were guest speakers. They proved to be very entertaining with their stories. They were able to sell some of their books. I read them right away. Some of the antics were really funny. The life of their professions kept them busy, and not able to be at home with their families. Little did I realize this until reading the books. They sure are entertaining. Dale Hustus played some songs and played guitar. Christine Stewart Hubbard sang a song with Dale.  Rita from UHOP did a good job of catering, and the food was good. All in all 90 people had registered and the building was full. A good time was had by all that attended. Thanks to everyone that donated to the Scholarship Fund. Thanks to Bob Couturier, Pres. of the FA Association for all of his past work. Lona Larrabee Bourassa will replace him. A Thank You to everyone who helped in any way. Hope you can join us in the future.

Until next week,

Enjoy the warm days we have left before the Fall weather, and work hits. The gardens have grown to abundance this year. Many have been canning and freezing for winter. The wood piles are showing up. So much to do before cold weather comes. Message me or call with any news you have to be printed in the paper. Many folks look forward to receiving the newspaper each week.

To the Yeaton Family...Please find some pictures for us. We want to include them in the Historical calendar,  and to the Wentworth Family as well.
