Las Vegas Star Christopher 'EDIE' Kenney is coming back to Camden Maine to direct show Mommie Queerest.

CAMDEN, Maine – The hysterically funny parody of the cult classic film Mommie Dearest, “Mommie Queerest,” will be at the Camden Opera House for one night only, Friday, November 2 at 8 p.m. The production is brought to Camden by the Camden Harbour Inn in support of Equality Maine and Yes on 1, a cause that is important to all of the actors as well as the owners of the Camden Harbour Inn, Raymond Brunyanszki and Oscar Verest.

Christopher Kenney - well known to Camden Opera House audiences and beyond as drag sensation EDIE and The Mistress of Sensuality, the host and emcee of one of the most popular shows in Las Vegas, Cirque du Soleil’s “Zumanity”, will direct “Mommie Queerest”. Kenney is taking time out of his busy performance schedule to return to Camden, due to his love of the village, the cause, and his desire to bring a Broadway class act to town.

"I am so excited to come back to Camden, a place I hold close to my heart. I love to see back all my old friends and looking forward to making some new ones too! says Kenney when we call him before he takes the New York, New York stage in Las Vegas to entertain over 2000 people. Kenney continues: "I promise this is the best comedy you have seen and after the show we have more giggles and wiggles at Natalie's!"

Kenney won the LA Weekly Theater Award as Best Comedy Director for his work on “Mommie Queerest,” and was named by Las Vegas City Life readers as Best Local Theater Director for his work on Jamie Morris’ trilogy of plays.

Raymond Brunyanszki, co-owner of Camden Harbour Inn says: " I am so excited that Edie is coming back to Camden. After he sold out Camden Opera House twice, he is now directing Mommie Queerest. A hilarious funny show with a Broadway cast and a Las Vegas Star director!". Brunyanszki continues  "I am thankful he is making time to support Yes on 1! This show is unique and must go!"

The full cast features many of the actors who have performed across the country in this zany all male comedy. Christopher, Joan Crawford’s adopted son, is played by Brian Dunham; Brooks Braselman plays Christina, Joan Crawford’s adopted daughter; playwright Jamie Morris plays Joan Crawford and actor Danny Pintauro, known from the hit TV show “Who’s the Boss,” plays multiple characters.
