Diane O'Brien teaches knitting for beginners at the Lincolnville Community Library May 2.

Lincolnville — Diane O’Brien will lead a beginning knitting workshop Tuesday, May 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lincolnville Community Library, 208 Main St. She will show how to get started by casting yarn onto the needles and will then teach the basic knitting and purling stitches. Everyone will make cotton dish cloths.

Each person should bring a ball of medium weight cotton yarn and a pair of size 7 or 8 needles if possible. There will also be some yarn and needles available for those who need them.

There is no charge for the workshop, but space is limited, so registration is required. For more information or to register, call 763-4343 or e-mail questions@lincolnvillelibrary.org.
