Finally: Snow!
After a year of almost no snow, and what little we got was promptly rained on, we seem to be going into 2013 not only with nearly a foot of snow, but with cold enough temperatures to keep it around for a while. Up until a couple of years ago, Wally shoveled our driveway and paths, sometimes with a little help from me. Then our sons gave him a snow blower for his birthday. And he loves it. The sun isn’t even up before he’s out there on a snowy morning (“It has a headlight!”) cleaning up the snow. Just as used to happen when he was doing it with a shovel, a fellow with a plow came along and pushed back the ridge at the end of the driveway, gave a wave and drove off.
Frozen tracks
The other morning before the snow, we spotted little frozen tracks crossing the road – fisher tracks. It had apparently come up out of Frohock Brook with wet feet and walked across the road where its tiny footprints froze for us to find.
