Literacy Volunteers of Waldo County workshop for tutors

A free workshop will be held for anyone (with or without experience) who is interested in working with adults on a one-to-one basis to improve their reading and writing skills. For those who do not have previous experience as an adult reading tutor, an introduction to Literacy Volunteers will be given by Colette Jadis, LVWC Coordinator, at 9 a.m. For both new and experienced tutors, beginning at 10 a.m., Dr. Wendy C. Kasten, professor emerita of curriculum and instruction in literacy, will provide an overview of the reading process and present two strategies for tutoring all types of learners.
