Lucy Seekins, 64, of Searsport passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the home of her daughter.
She was a member of Searsport Full Gospel Church, where she attended faithfully, until recently when health conditions wouldn’t allow her to.
Lucy was born May 26, 1952, to Eugene and Margaret (Ward) Seekins. She was the youngest of nine children. At 2 years old, after the untimely death of her mother, she went to live with Virginia and Stanley Lanphier Sr. and she was raised as their own. Lucy enjoyed cooking and no one loved her cooking more than her brother Tim.
Survivors include her daughter Janet Littlefield and husband Larry; three grandchildren: Danielle, James and Brandon; and two great-grandchildren: Trinity and Kayden, whom she loved more than life itself, and would do anything within her means for them. She is also survived by seven sisters: Lucille, Lena, Linda, Kathleen, Donna, Connie and Karen; five brothers: Lawrence, Larry, Stanley, Tim and Rick; also her sisters- and brothers-in-law. who also loved her very much; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She is rejoicing with the several family members of her extended family, who predeceased her. Family and friends will gather for visitation from 4 to 6 pm., Friday, Jan. 13, at Young Funeral Home, 31 W. Main St., Searsport. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 15, at Searsport Full Gospel Church, Main Street, Searsport. A reception will follow the service at the Searsport Lions Club at 3 p.m.
