Maine Community Foundation offers $1,000 awards for Cobe Scholarships
Belfast — Calling all first-time college students interested in taking one course at the Hutchinson Center. The Maine Community Foundation is offering the Ira M. Cobe Fund Scholarship of $1,000 to residents of Waldo County.
The student needs to be a high-school graduate under the age of 23. This is for a first-time student with preference for those who are taking one class to explore the possibility of furthering their education. There is a preference for students for whom a scholarship would make a significant difference in their ability to attend the Hutchinson Center.
This scholarship will pay for one college course, tuition, fees and books. This award has been increased from $500 to the current $1,000.
Family income must fall within the federal reduced lunch program. Contact Nancy Boyington at the Hutchinson Center for an application, 338-8002 or email: nancyb@maine.edu.
