Friends of the Belfast Free Library series features award-winning author Susan Conley offering a talk titled, "Storytelling: Lessons in Risk-Taking and Stubbornness." Her novel, "Paris Was the Place" (Knopf, 2013) was chosen as an Indie Next Pick, an Amazon Big Book for Fall in fiction and an Elle Magazine Readers Prize Selection. Her memoir, "The Foremost Good Fortune," won the Maine Literary Award for Memoir. Books will be available for purchase. Admission is free.
Conley teaches creative writing in a master's degree program at the University of Southern Maine and is the co-founder of The Telling Room, a nonprofit creative writing lab in Portland, where she lives with her husband and two sons.
