Frankfort — A single vehicle crash on North Searsport Road in Frankfort sent one man to the hospital Friday evening, Nov. 22, to be treated for a head wound he sustained in the accident.

According to the accident report at the Waldo County Sheriff's Office, Winterport Volunteer Ambulance Service responded to the crash scene and transported 27-year-old Jack Harvey to an area hospital following the crash. Jack Harvey was listed as the passenger in the 1998 Subaru; the report stated 54-year-old Daniel Harvey was the driver. Daniel Harvey was not hurt.

The crash report stated Daniel Harvey was traveling southbound and swerved to avoid a vehicle that had stopped suddenly in front of him in the roadway. Daniel Harvey told police at the scene that he was following a white van that was traveling slowly, and when the driver of the van hit the brakes, Daniel Harvey had to "jerk the steering wheel to the left to avoid hitting the van."

From there, Daniel Harvey told police he lost control, went off the road on the northbound lane side rolled over.

Deputies with the Waldo County Sheriff's Office, attendants with the Winterport Volunteer Ambulance Service and the Frankfort Fire Department responded to the accident, which occurred around 3:20 p.m. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to damage to the roof.
