Maritime Energy/Farms 2012 donation totals to help fight cancer!
In 2012, Maritime Energy/Farms raised $22,130 to fight cancer. The money was raised through the generous support from customers, business partners and the community members with Maritime’s annual golf tournament and the 1st Annual Karen’s Run/Walk. Karen’s Walk was started in memory of Karen Ware, Mother of Susan Ware Page 3rd generation of Maritime Energy.

The money raised was donated to the Maine Cancer Foundation directed towards cancer research and also Maritime’s “Energy 4 Life” fund that Susan’s Mother Karen and family set up to help local families dealing with cancer.
“My Mom told me that she wanted us to be able to help other families, so hopefully one day families wouldn’t have to go through what we did. She was so unselfish and we’ve been able to help many families in various ways. Everything from assisting families financially by paying overdue utility bills and for those who don’t need financial assistance with a nice gift to let the families know we are thinking of them. We are trying to do our part to demonstrate that we care for people during a very difficult time in their lives. The money we raised for the Maine Cancer Foundation was directed towards cancer research which is what is needed for cures to be discovered,” states Susan Page.
