Aug 17, 2012

Belfast — Belfast Maskers will hold final auditions for the troupe’s fall production of "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon at First Church, 55 Spring St.

Jeffrey Hatcher's terrifying and inventive retelling of the Robert Louis Stevenson story illuminates the struggle between our light and dark sides as Jekyll experiments with exotic tinctures that create his other self.

The cast is to be made up of four adult men and two adult women. Several of the performers will be tasked with portraying multiple roles. Auditions will consists of "cold" reading from sections of the play, individually and/or with other performers.

The play, for mature audiences only, will be produced in October in Belfast, Searsport and other sites to be announced.
