McGuirl heads to Fiber College

Searsport — Midcoast artist Cynthia McGuirl will be teaching Silk Painting and Marbling at Fiber College, held Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 6 to 9 at Searsport Shores Ocean Campground, Route 1.

Fiber College is an annual, volunteer-driven event that offers an array of classes suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced students. As well as classes, there is the Knitmaine-ia Fashion Show; vendors selling fiber-related items; and casual gatherings for meals and exchanges. For-fee classes may be chosen in advance or at the gate, where a $8 admission is charged. A detailed list of events is available at fibercollege.org.

McGuirl’s Silk Painting class will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and she will teach Marbling Friday from 1 to 4:30 p.m. For more information and to sign up for classes, visit the website.
