Your name: Joel
Which store do you work in or what is your main duty within The Loyal Biscuit Co. team?: I work in all the stores, mostly behind the scenes. I take care of maintenance, building stuff, etc. I also handle any and all discipline issues (we have none), and I participate in-depth during the hiring process. I am the PRESIDENT of the company, aka BOSSMAN.
How long have you been with The Loyal Biscuit Co.?: Since the day we purchased Rockland, January 19, 2010.
How many furry, feathered, or scaled family members do you have and what are their names and ages?: Oh my, everyone knows our family, The dogs: Fenway, Chuck and George. The cats: Meredith and Christina. I also have a few outside varmints like squirrels, raccoons, skunks, and porcupines and they all have names I just can't write those names down :)
What’s one thing Loyal Biscuit customers might not know about you?: Most do, but some might not know that I am full time police officer with the Rockland Police Department. Another thing that people might not know is that I have been in the U.S. Army going on 30 years now. I am also an NRA and Maine State Firearms instructor. I have so many titles I can't remember them all :)
List three favorites (e.g. color, food, movie, brand of toothpaste, etc): My favorite food is Lobster; I will eat it until I am sick! My favorite hobby or stress relief is hunting and fishing. I also really enjoy going to the movies. I never outgrew that part of myself and still go to them on a regular basis, sometimes alone. I am also an adrenaline junky. I love fast, scary roller coasters and I have been skydiving and dream of that on a regular basis! Speaking of dreaming, I have been dreaming of being able to fly for years, what does that mean anyway? I mean very vivid abilities to fly or float on command!
How do you like to spend time outside of work?: Nothing better than engaging in some of the really fun things I like to do :) Being a hunter, I love to scout my hunting areas and build cool things (cool to me) that will make my hunting more pleasurable and successful :) Speaking of building, I am no carpenter, but I enjoy building little projects like hunting blinds, retail counters, deer drags, etc. A lot of my found ideas for projects get tossed because they don't come out right but sometimes they do and that pleases me a lot!
Who would win in a fight, a caveman or an astronaut?: Astronaut of course, The astronaut would just shoot the caveman.
What’s one of your favorite products we sell and why is it a favorite?: I love the LBC Tug-ME-Toys because they are super durable and we make them :)
If you could spend the afternoon with any three people, living or passed, who would you choose and what would you spend the time doing?: Wow, that one is very difficult, So many people who have passed that I really loved, both famous and family. For living though, I would like to spend the day with the cast from The Big Bang Theory. I would like to help write jokes and maybe get cast for an episode as a really smart Dr. Science guy to cover up the fact that I am not :)
If you had three wishes that you could use with only yourself in mind, what would you wish for (and “more/infinite wishes” doesn’t count)?: Money, money, money! Not talking billions, I just want to be able to do what I like to do when I want to do them, have what I want when I want it, and not have money be the hurdle I have to get past! Not filthy rich but well off would be nice. To live forever; ya I know, who wants to live forever?......ME! And for the third wish, to be able to travel forward and backwards in time to change mistakes I’ve made and to check on the outcome of future choices I make :) Oh and to visit people both in the past and the future :)
If you could hire any fictional character (from any medium) to work a day with you in the store, who would you pick and why?: I don't know, there are so many of them!
If you could open up a Loyal Biscuit anywhere in the world, where would you choose?: I am set on a Texas way of life in a few years. I think we need to open several LBCs in Texas!
Tell us a joke!: A poodle and a collie are walking together when the poodle suddenly unloads on his friend. “My life is a mess,” he says. “My owner is mean, my girlfriend ran away with a schnauzer, and I’m as jittery as a cat.”
“Why don’t you go see a psychiatrist?” suggests the collie.
“I can’t,” says the poodle. “I’m not allowed on the couch.”
