The Kiwanis Club hosted children's book illustrator and author Melissa Sweet as their featured guest speaker at the weekly meeting on January 28.  With more than 100 books with her name on the front cover, Sweet explained how she got started in the industry 25 years ago and demonstrated the many steps in the illustrating process.  Kiwanis president Amy Pease of Union [right] is pictured with the author following her presentation.  The Kiwanis Club meets every Monday at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.
