Meteora offers house concert
Lincolnville — Eclectic local trio-on-the-move Meteora will give a house concert close to home Wednesday, July 18 at 7 p.m. There will be baked goods and juices during intermission. Reservations are suggested as seating is limited; call Will Brown at 789-5276 or Kat Logan at 226-7446. Suggested donation is $8 reserved, $10 at the door.
Meteora features Logan and Jim Loney of Friendship; and Brown of Lincolnville. Their repertoire includes folk, R&B, Delta blues, Cuban son and world folk, as well as some traditional songs and tunes of Celtic and Rom flavor. In addition to performing their own original songs, they do a variety of original arrangements with varied instrumentations.
Between them, these musicians have performed and recorded with Gordon Bok, Anne Dodson, Cindy Kallet and Grey Larsen. Logan and Brown both recorded songs on the 2009 Grammy-nominated Folk Album “Singing Through The Hard Times: A Tribute to Utah Phillips.”
Meteora’s collaboration began in the winter of 2011 with a concert in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Since then, they have been playing at venues between Portland and the Penobscot Bay area. This fall, the trio will hit the road for a festival in Washington, D.C. with house concerts planned along the way.
