Midcoast Actor’s Studio sets auditions
Belfast — The Midcoast Actor’s Studio will hold open auditions for local actors Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Troy A. Howard Middle School, 173 Lincolnville Ave./Route 52. This is an opportunity for local talent to showcase acting chops for founder and artistic director Jason Bannister.
The results of these auditions will impact future MCAS production choices. Auditions are open to anyone age 16 and older. Auditioners should bring two contrasting monologues; memorization is strongly encouraged, but not required. Since MCAS is focusing on plays, musical theater monologues should not be used. Auditioners also should bring a photograph of themselves, which will be retained by MCAS. Traditional theater resumés are welcome.
Bannister also is looking for locals interested in set, light and costume design, stage management, prop supervision, producing and directing. Interested parties are welcome to drop by.
Midcoast Actor’s Studio is a new theater company based in Belfast and servicing the entire Midcoast. In its inaugural 2012 season, it produced “Hedda Gabler” and “Miss Julie.” MCAS plans to produce two to three plays a year. Those interested who cannot make it to the auditions should contact Bannister at firstname.lastname@example.org.
