The 2012 Midcoast Maine Lighthouse Challenge, sponsored by the American Lighthouse Foundation (ALF) and its chapter, Friends of Rockland Harbor Lights, offers participants a one-of-a-kind opportunity to visit and climb some of the area’s most beloved beacons of the sea during one weekend in June.
For two days only on June 23 & 24, 2012, don’t miss out on the chance to visit and climb these alluring lighthouses:
- Dyce Head
- Fort Point
- Grindle Point
- Rockland Breakwater
- Owls Head
- Marshall Point
- Pemaquid Point.
While you’re driving to each of the lighthouses, be sure to stop and enjoy a number of fascinating “bonus” sites or exhibits along the way that will enhance YOUR maritime experience. The event is free...some sites may have admission or parking fees.
